10 New Game Plus Features We Should've Started With

7. Stealth Camouflage - Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid's stealth camouflage is freakin' awesome, rendering you invisible to all non-boss enemies and cameras throughout the game, yet it's a gadget only unlocked after beating the game once.

More to the point, you need to beat Metal Gear Solid once with the bad ending where Meryl dies, caused by submitting to Revolver Ocelot's torture in the latter half of the game.

Even ignoring the fact that players who give up actually get the better New Game Plus reward - the other being a bandana for unlimited ammo - the stealth camo is basically an accessibility feature, and there's no real reason to keep it locked behind a second playthrough.

While the game's general stealth mechanics are absolutely first-rate, sometimes you just want to turn on your camo and waltz invisibly past the parade of Genome Soldiers.

Options are a good thing after all, and so why not let players who love the story but find stealth frustrating simply use the camo from the jump?
