10 New Game Plus Modes That Changed EVERYTHING
7. A Totally Different Plot - Oxenfree
Oxenfree is a game that really, really needs to be played more than once - because the stuff that comes after its first ending is arguably some of the most interesting stuff in the entire game.
It's pretty unusual, too, as it wasn't something that was made with the game itself, but rather released in an update to the game around the time of the PS4 release.
It allows you to massively change the game, allowing you a chance to complete the perfect ending where you save Micheal, stop the continual time loop, and still get to go home.
All of these have a pretty big impact on the plot, but none more so than saving Michael, the protagonist’s brother. Given the dude dies towards the start of the game before this, him living totally changes how things go, with him replacing your then-stepbrother Jonas as your partner in crime.
There's ample ways to still accidentally give yourself a nightmarish ending, sure, but the fact that a good ending without any huge downsides was basically patched in is pretty amazing.
