10 Nintendo Games To Keep You Happy Until The Next Metroid
1. Any Past Metroid Game
Whether you want the first person action of Prime, the sinister atmosphere of Fusion, or the naff story of Other M, every Metroid game is a perfectly crafted example of the genre (that's why it's called Metroidvania, but you probably worked that out by now).
If you've played through 'em all, play 'em again. The Metroid universe is one of the most expertly crafted, intricate, and downright interesting ones in all of gaming, and there are enough secret routes, hidden powerups, challenging boss battles and genuinely incredible gameplay in every entry in the series to more than merit replay value. Sure, it's hard to admit that the next "proper" Metroid is still years away... but when you're looking at a franchise with a back catalogue so packed with awesome, you have plenty to be getting on with till then.
