10 Nintendo Switch Ports That Aren't Worth Your Money
1. Ark: Survival Evolved
Ark: Survival Evolved isn't exactly the nicest game to look at even on its best side, so it comes as little surprise that its port to the Switch struggled in many, many ways.
Getting Ark to run even reasonably on Nintendo's hardware meant for a considerable number of sacrifices across the board, from the level of visual quality and colour to the amount of detail on screen at any one time. Running into what would normally be a densely populated area full of shrubs, trees and grass on another system is instead a plain, barren landscape with jagged edges and trees that look more like cardboard cutouts on a low budget film set.
Even with the drastic reduction in detail, the game is continually plagued by performance issues from low frame rates to surprisingly low resolutions even in docked mode. It's just a mess in every respect, a port that really didn't need to happen or at the very least, should have happened after the other versions of the game were improved enough to make it worthwhile. Whereas some games on this list deserve some credit for the effort, there's very little positive that can be said here.
