10 Nintendo Switch Ports That Aren't Worth Your Money
7. Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night
As a spiritual successor to Castlevania, from the mind of the same creator, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night delivered a worthy adventure that Simon Belmont would be proud of. It's a damn shame then that the console it should have been perfect for struggled so much to deliver on that promise.
Such was the disappointing port of Bloodstained's Switch release, with various issues including input lag, poor frame rates, low resolution textures, lengthy load times and general crashes that the other editions of the game didn't suffer from anywhere near as much if at all. As much as many of these issues were eventually fixed in a subsequently large patch, much of the damage had already been done.
The patch itself was long gestating, and again it's one of those cases where playing it just for the sake of it being on a handheld means players are missing out on a superior edition of the game elsewhere. Bloodstained has since been updated to 'parity' with its console and PC siblings, but the experience is still far more rewarding elsewhere than here. Or better yet, seek out the 8-bit inspired prequel in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon instead.
