Marcus Fenix, the protagonist of the Gears of War franchise, is one of the most ridiculous walking stereotypes of the last gaming generation. He might be able to get things done, but just look at him: he's every jock meathead stereotype rolled into one, without even a lick of a satirical undertone. It's not like Fenix even proves the stereotype wrong when he opens his mouth either: most of what he says comes in awkward grunts, and he prefers to let his actions speak much louder than anything else. Like the male Commander Shepard, the guy just doesn't have much personality (though BioWare at least tried to characterise Shepard well), and his sole purpose is to look bad*** and blow things up. For a video game series so modern and popular, it's a shame they reverted to a character who unintentionally parodies the shooter heroes of yesteryear.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
