Darkest Dungeon is not a friendly game - it wants you to die, and suffer, and go insane. And it has a lot of Lovecraft's influences to help you along on your designated path to insanity! The first few levels, where you'll take your team through the - I assure you - darkest of dungeons, makes you fight a tough boss battle against some cultists.

Now you've leveled up a bit, your team is stronger, hopefully if their sanity didn't break they found the strength to carry through and you're ready to progress to the next set of dungeons, all equally dark and terrifying. One of those dungeons is called the Weald, in which you can find the Swamp Hag and her insufferable Pot.

First round of the battle she'll snatch up a hero and throw them in her pot. They will take damage not just every turn, but every action - oh, and the Hag gets two actions each round. The goal is to kill her before your buddy dies in the cauldron. While technically not killed in a single 'hit', that one technique can eventually kill you, and if you try to 1v1 her you die instantly in the pot.
