10 Open-World Video Game Bosses You MUST Fight

2. Flemeth - Dragon Age: Origins

RAGE 2
Bioware

While Bioware has fallen foul of failed releases and disappointing efforts over the last decade, their franchises were once major forces in the role-playing scene. Arguably the best of these was Dragon Age: Origins, a deep and sprawling RPG that successfully launched its franchise.

While Dragon Age: Origins is less of a traditional open world than other entries on this list, it still allows your party to venture between locations in any order you choose, tackling random encounters as you make your way through Ferelden. Often quests can reveal themselves through interactions with your party and the way they respond to your decisions throughout the game.

One companion who tags along with you is Morrigan, a witch whose motives are rarely made clear. Over the course of the game, the player learns of her mother Flemeth and the quest "Flemeth's Real Grimoire" comes to light. This reveals a hidden battle. You can either let Flemeth leave or do battle, prompting the character's greatest secret to come to light.

Shapeshifting into a High Dragon, the confrontation that ensues is brutally difficult with the boss standing at level 15 and 3555 health. If you're able to slay the beast, Morrigan receives some high level items and a large amount of approval points towards the protagonist.
