After many years of stagnation, the Final Fantasy franchise made somewhat of a comeback with its fifteenth mainline entry. It may not have satisfied all fans, but it was certainly an improvement on XIII's lacklustre and overly linear effort.

As Prince Noctis, you fight alongside close companions to reclaim your kingdom with much of the protaganist's travels taking place on the road in the Regalia. Taking on giant monsters with colossal health bars has always been a series staple and the developers have often added hidden adversaries.

These can only be tackled once you've levelled up to the max and also done some exploring off the beaten path. The latest effort under this tradition is Adamantoise, who first appeared in the dazzling CGI trailers leading up to release.

This giant tortoise sits among the most powerful superbosses in the title, while also being the largest and oldest creature in the setting of Lucis. Boasting a staggering 56,24400 health points and ranked at level 99, it's undoubtedly one of the greatest challenges for Noctis and his crew.

Adamantoise can be found at any point in the game, but to do so, the player needs to use the Umbra and obtain the "Let Sleeping Mountains Lie" quest.
