10 Other Fighting Games That Should Feature Wrestlers In Their Rosters

9. Street Fighter

Street Fighter is no stranger to characters with a wrestling style. Zangief was iconic with his debut as a Russian body slammer, and El Fuerte gave the series one of its freshest characters, bringing his lucha inspired moveset, costume, and culinary ability. They've also had a few nods to iconic wrestling moments, like with Alex and Andore sizing each other up like Hogan and Andre. Neither series has been scared to crossover with a different intellectual property, so Street Fighter x WWE seems like no-loss game.

Both the series and the federation have storied histories of memorable moments and characters. This crossover could produce an abundance of dream matches with the game's protagonists taking on the aces of their era, Ryu and Ken vs Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, Guile vs John Cena, or even Akuma vs Bray Wyatt. Beyond just the matchups, WWE has so many different fighters with different styles that can make for a remarkably deep meta-game. Plus with WWE owning ECW and WCW, they could send out stars from those promotions as well.

With rosters as deep as Mariana's Trench, and enough fan support to carry this crossover for generations, Capcom might have their next greatest partner with Marvel drifting further away.
