10 Outrageously Hard Video Game Boss Battles

1. Nemesis €“ Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Nemesis Nemesis was a game-changer in horror games. Before this mottled monstrosity started bothering Jill Valentine, you knew that when confronted by something horrifying, you could simply leave the room. Playstation logic told us that things couldn€™t pass through doors, and we wore that like a safety blanket. And then there was Nemesis, appearing when you least expect it before pursuing you all over the place. He was relentless. You always had the option to fight him, but only the brave and the foolish would choose to do such a thing. Yes, he would drop special weapons if you €˜defeated€™ him, but you can€™t use them if you€™re dead. All you could do was run, and he followed you, single-minded in his quest to introduce a tentacle to your face. Speaking of which, Nemesis introduced one of the most traumatic deaths on the PS One €“ from the sound of Jill dying to the act itself, it was genuinely upsetting. You wanted to avoid such a fate at all costs, so you ran. But then he turns up with a cartoonishly huge minigun and rocket launcher, so even that doesn't work. Of course, some brave folk stood and fought. They were fools, but we respected them, and they brought out a whole other part of Nemesis. Simply put, he could not be killed. Player after player pumped clip after clip into him, but the big-toothed mutant would not go down. If you did manage to €˜kill€™ him, you always ended up badly wounded €“ thanks to the ridiculous dodge button €“ and lacking ammo, easy prey for the next monstrosity which crosses your path. When you do finally down the tentacled one with a .44 magnum, you won€™t believe the catharsis. Agree or disagree? Feel free to comment!
