10 Perfect Video Game Sequels You'll Never Get

1. Silent Hills

SILENT HILLS pt
Konami

Why Not?

Like with Metal Gear, Konami have a vice grip on Silent Hill, and though they initially coughed up the cash to get Hideo Kojima working alongside Guillermo del Toro and The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, the supposed reboot was canned once Koj and his higher-ups parted ways.

Silent Hills remains a crying shame of the most annoying variety, because we held it in our hands back in 2014. Everybody and their fourth cousin played P.T., the Playable Teaser for what was to come, yet this idea of a first-person Silent Hill will never see the light of day, and if it does, it either won't be called Silent Hill or won't be made by Kojima and Guillermo.

What Would Be Perfect?

Continue from where P.T. left off.

Kojima and Guillermo's vision laid a pretty solid base foundation for expanding on the Silent Hill mythology. We already know the titular town can manifest based on the sins and hidden motivations of particular individuals, but even the demo succeeded in setting up the tale of a husband who brutally murdered his wife and unborn child, only to be haunted by his actions, doomed to repeat walking the same stretch of their home until he remembered every last detail.

Thanks to some exemplary environmental storytelling, sound design and a graphics engine that was photo-real, P.T. was one of the most terrifying video game experiences you could have, and will remain with near-mythical status, thanks to only being referred to in retrospect.
