10 Perfect Video Game Sequels You'll Never Get

9. Metal Gear Solid 5 Actually Telling The Story Of Big Boss' Downfall

Why Not?

With the almighty clusterfruitcake that was Hideo Kojima falling out with Konami, Metal Gear is destined to only be trotted out in either Pachinko gambling machine form, or the godawful mass market-tested likes of Metal Gear Survive, which is - wait for it - a zombie shooter.

There's also the fact that even the MGS V we did get wasn't remotely about the 'fall of Big Boss', despite its advertising describing as such.

What Would Be Perfect?

Carry on from where Peace Walker left off, delve into that side of Big Boss' personality that wants freedom from the judicial leanings of American patriotism or a western worldview. There's a really interesting grey area to explore when it comes to the notion of a soldier's skills being put to better use through morality than the whims of governments, and it's something Marvel's Civil War also dabbled in.

We needed to see a Big Boss struggling with the fact that freedom away from governments always means you'll be seen as a threat, and tie that back into Boss' dialogue in the original Metal Gear, where he sounded increasingly tired of fighting.

The death of morality and the supplanting of governments dictating right and wrong would've been a fantastic topic for Kojima to pick apart, and he already laid the groundwork masterfully in both MGS 4 and Peace Walker.
