10 Perfect Video Games That NEVER Need To Be Remade

3. Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles

For those who grew up with the Megadrive/Genesis, Sonic no doubt holds a place in your heart. His first and second adventures were pretty good, but his third, combined with the fourth, were fantastic. Sadly, Sonic in the modern era has lost a lot of his sheen. A tidal wave of bad games over the past few years (with the exception of some entries such as Sonic Generations) have proven that Sonic doesn't quite have what it takes in his old age. However, back when the classic S3 & Knuckles was released, he was in his prime. One of the most unique gameplay cartridges ever conceived, Sonic & Knuckles - the follow-up to 3 - included the ability to lock the two games together to create one long adventure. This was carried out because both games were originally meant to be one title, but time constraints forced Sega to rush out Sonic 3. When both of these are combined together they create a hugely memorable experience with varied levels, challenging boss fights and are packed full of secret routes and actual storyline development. It's also one of the rare Megadrive games to come the ability to actually save your game, allowing you to pick it up where you left off. Sonic's classic adventure simply shouldn't be touched by Sega as they've proven with Sonic 4 Episode 1 and 2 that they can't do 2D Sonic very well anymore. Plus, it's pretty much perfect already.
