2. Make Ciri The Protagonist

The Witcher 3 didn't just let players march across the world as the surly, silver-haired Geralt during its main narrative. Instead, we got the chance to play out numerous sections of the story in control of his missing ward Ciri as other characters advised the Witcher of their encounters with her.

With CD Projekt Red hinting that a new game in the series wouldn't feature Geralt at its helm, Ciri would make the perfect alternative choice. Her relative youth means she could be the mascot for a further trilogy if audiences demanded it, and her strong personality make her more than capable of carrying a game or two on her own.

As well as this, Ciri's unique power set and inexperience as a Witcher would make her story past the events of Wild Hunt a very interesting one indeed. Obviously there was a chance her fate could be very unknown at the end of the third game but, given that the most attractive ending has her alive and free, it would be easy for the developers to carry on from this point.
