Horizon: Zero Dawn was something of a surprise when it was revealed in 2015. We knew Guerrilla Games was working on a non-Killzone RPG, however we didn't think for a second it was going to be as amazing as Horizon ended-up. We underestimated Guerrilla Games' ability to deliver a game of that quality, particularly with its first swing at an open-world RPG.

Horizon was a fantastic game that set the foundation for a very important series moving forward. Not only did the game review great and sell better, but the protagonist, Aloy, has become one of the faces of PlayStation. She has quickly become a gaming icon that people love to cosplay as, so we can expect her to be front-and-centre of the brand for a decade to come.

Guerrilla Games built something special with its world of ancient machines that act like animals, and tribes that survive on the land. It's unlike anything else in gaming and it's so very ripe for a sequel. We already know a new game is in the works because, well, firstly it's a no-brainer, but also because actress Janina Gavankar let slip that she's in it. So this is just a matter of when, and we think 2021.
