10 Pointless (Yet Awesome) Character Abilities In Video Games

1. Hugs - A Boy And His Blob

This final entry might be one of the sweetest yet most gameplay-wise pointless features in gaming. If you’ve not seen or heard of A Boy and His Blob, this is a Wii game that was a remake of a classic and often quite difficult NES game “A Boy and His Blob: Trouble In Blobolonia” (what a title right?!)

The remake captures the puzzle-centric charm of the original and presents itself with a beautiful, charming art style. Yet this is nothing - nothing - compared to how sweet it is that this game has a dedicated HUG button.

That’s right: if you ever want to give this adorable clump of mallow that is your mate a quick squeeze, you can. This goes way beyond petting animals in games, this is an honest to God thing of beauty that is so utterly pure it'd make even criminals harder than stale birthday cake want to change their ways.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
