10 Pokémon Games You've (Probably) Never Played
9. Pokemon Conquest
A cross-over title between everyone’s favourite pocket monsters and the Japanese series Nobunaga’s Ambition, this tactical RPG was released for the DS consoles back in 2012.
The plot revolves around the Player attempting to unite the kingdoms of the Ransei Region by defeating Warriors and Warlords while being opposed by Nobunaga (a Warlord himself) who is looking to find the legendary Pokémon that is said to appear upon uniting the kingdoms.
There are a few changes to the Pokémon formula, swapping out elements from its series in favour of those from the Nobunaga franchise. There are far less Pokémon in Conquest, each of which can only use one move and instead of capturing Pokémon by using Poké Balls, Players have to create a “link” with the Pokémon using a rhythm mini-game. This “linking” also replaces the Pokémon leveling system, where a stronger link with your Pokémon raises their stats, as well as making slight changes to the way Pokémon evolve.
The game also features a great deal of post-game content beyond the main story, with an additional 32 episodes that feature specific enemies and objectives, along with a more intelligent AI to do battle with.
