10 Pokémon Games You've (Probably) Never Played

4. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Adventure Team

The lesser-known but equally as awesome Mystery Dungeon subseries has had several entries over the years, but the 3 Adventure Team games released for WiiWare back in 2009 (again exclusively in Japan) are more than likely the least discovered.

Following suit of the main series, Adventure Team had three slightly different variants; PMD: Advance! Fire Adventure Team, PMD: Go! Storm Adventure Team and PMD: Aim! Light Adventure Team. The game itself however continues with the make-up of its predecessors by using procedurally generated “dungeons” and turn-based combat, with each game having their own 15 unique dungeons and a grand total of 493 Pokémon.

The story is a simple affair, where you play not as a human-transformed-Pokémon but as an actual Pokémon, in a quest to obtain cookies and treats for your Pokémon community, and I am not lying about that.

The Adventure Team collection also introduced 3D graphics in the Mystery Dungeon games (as opposed to the previously used sprite models) and the Team Attacks which are now a staple of the series. Nintendo also enabled online capabilities for the games, allowing players to gain access to certain challenges that would reward previously unattainable or unique Pokémon.

A lover of video games, Star Wars, and cereal. Thinks Starfox Adventures was really good.
