5. Garchomp
Sharks, as awesome as they are, are naturally scary animals. It's just a general rule. There's a reason why Jaws tops so many lists of the scariest films of all time. As frightening as they are, they're also quite avoidable. Simply stay out of the water. The Pokémon that is Garchomp bends the rules a bit. It's what is known as a "land shark" and this is due to being a shark that can roam the land (duh). What's so terrifying about that? Well, as anyone knows, sharks are among the greatest predators of all of Earth's creatures. They often take a bite out of humans by mistake, though that doesn't mean they don't do some serious damage. Perhaps what makes Garchomp the most frightening, however, is how different it is from real life sharks. It is known as the Mach Pokémon, and once again this speaks for itself. It can move at jet speed, and when it does, it creates blades of wind that can slice through trees! It is extremely territorial and will not hesitate to attack anyone it deems a trespasser. Garchomp is known for being a ferocious predator, attacking anything it comes into contact with and, like Arbok before it, refuses to let prey escape. Real life sharks are far less monstrous. For s***s and giggles, look up SNL's hilarious land shark skits, inspired by the mass fear Jaws created upon its release.
