10 Pokémon Who Deserve Mega Evolutions

9. Dusknoir

Mega Gengar Pokken
Game Freak

Duskull has one of the most kitsch Pokémon designs out there, with its red eye popping back and forward in its skull between the two eyeholes. The Grim Reaper style black, billowing robe and goofy teeth only add to this look.

Unfortunately, it evolves not once but twice, and both times it just gets worse. The second stage, Dusclops, at least keeps the kitsch idea.

Based on a mummy with the strips of cloth and the grasping hands, it has a similarly camp vibe, but it’s a serious downgrade (in aesthetic if not in stats, where it gets a decent boost).

Though there’s some family resemblance, it’s very much a distant cousins kind of thing. It loses the uniqueness Duskull had to gain not very much, and with Dusknoir it just gets worse.

It keeps the cyclops theme of its predecessors, but again nowhere near as well as Duskull did it originally. Below this, its body splits open into a mouth, while above it has an antenna to the Spirit World. There’s too much going on with little focus involved.

Ghost is one of the most popular types in the whole game; at the moment there’s zero reason to go for Dusknoir.
