10 Powerful Video Game Endings That Gave You Chills

5. Marvel's Spider-Man

Marvel's Spider-Man takes a Return of the King-style approach to its ending, which is probably justified considering how many disparate plot threads and characters it needed to provide closure for.

The main ending, however, begins with the death of an ill Aunt May, which comes as the result of a moral dilemma superheroes were made to explore. Peter is in the room with the last family member he has left, cure in hand, primed with the knowledge that using it to save her will doom millions of others dying from the same disease.

That's emotional enough, but it's the farewell conversation that hits so powerfully, particularly the revelation that May knew Peter's identity all along in the line, "Let me see my nephew." It's so good I genuinely got chills just writing the line out.

It doesn't stop there though, and everything in the epilogue packs the same punch, including the reveal of Miles Morales' powers, and Harry Obsorn's true fate just before the game cuts to black.
