That's not a metaphor, you literally start in the aftermath of an aeroplane. But that's not the chilling bit, it's what comes next that gives us the willies.
The ominous lighthouse, that slow descent into an the underwater utopia...
It looks magnificent, until you dock. No one around, the writing [literally] on the walls, something's not right here.
This societal paradise is not all it's cracked up to be, and it's not long until we discover what went wrong. But that opening, that unknowing fall into Rapture, that sense of dread that rises up the back of throats, that was a new one.
