9. Having No Money By The End Of November

If you're a gamer, the so-called "summer drought" isn't really a drought at all: it gives gamers ample time to save up money for the upcoming onslaught on their wallets that is October and November, whereby an ungodly number of anticipated games are released each year. Just take a look at this year's line-up, which boasts the likes of Super Smash Bros., Alien Isolation, Driveclub, NBA 2K15, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Evil Within, Bayonetta 2, Sunset Overdrive, WWE 2K15, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Assassin's Creed Unity, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, The Crew, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Far Cry 4, and LittleBigPlanet 3. Phew. Even if you're only interested in 1/3 of the games listed, that's still a hefty chunk of change for just two months out of the year, and as such it's no surprise that gamers are generally broke by the time December rolls around. Our advice? If you're absolutely sure you want a few games, start pre-ordering and paying them off over the summer (or at least put the money aside in another account) so you're not having to borrow money to buy Christmas presents. Ah, it's a tough life for gamers!
