10 PS1 Characters That Should Be In Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

6. Metal Gear Rex (Metal Gear Solid)

Sure I could go with characters that people expect to come up when talking about Metal Gear Solid. Solid Snake, Liquid Sake, Ocelot, Grey Fox (actually not a bad suggestion), Vulcan Raven or Psycho Mantis. But let us not forget who the real star of that game was. Metal Gear Rex. From the very beginning you heard all about its capabilities and destructive power. Then finally when Snake finally confronts the nuclear tank your tasked with the seemingly impossible task of taking it down single handedly.

Admittedly as a bipedal nuclear death machine it would need to be scaled down to fit in with the other characters. Lets say a little bigger than a man, but bulkier. Metal Gear Solid 4 let us finally have a spin in Rex, letting us play with an arsenal that could fit right into the game at hand. A rocket boost and stomp attack, plus a full assortment of offensive weapons including a gatling gun, laser, surface to air missiles and a rail gun. Just think, its super move could have it let loose and rain down nuclear Armageddon onto the stage.

5. The Final Fantasy 7 Cast (Final Fantasy VII)

Take your pick, any one of the characters from Final Fantasy VII could be potential candidates for All Star Battle Royale. While the release of Dissidia means we might not have as much demand to see Cloud Strife appear in another fighting game (we can finally move on from Ehrgeiz), it would make sense for characters from the Playstation's most successful and most loved RPG to appear. First up we have Cloud and Sephiroth, perhaps the most obvious contenders. I'd be perfectly happy to see either of these two show up. Final Fantasy VII was the first game I ever played that made me realise games could more than a simple entertainment medium. However if you wanted to go down a slightly less explored route we could maybe have a Reno and Rude tag team combo to dish up some harsh turk justice. If I'm honest though the character I'd most want to see is Cid Highwind. There's been a Cid character in the majority of Final Fantasy games, and his no bullshit attitude would be a perfect fit. We'd also get a spear wielding fighter who lights dynamite with his cigarettes.
