10 Questionable Moments In Nintendo Games You Totally Ignored

1. Pilotwings Is Really Training You To Rescue Hostages From Terrorists

Pilotwingssalute Okay, so most of this list has been a bit grim, involving people being hurt, dying, or dead in some form or fashion. So let's close this thing out on a different note: By saving lives. The game? Pilotwings for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. These days, Pilotwings is generally viewed as a sort of light sports game. You hang glide, you use jetpacks, you fly planes, all to relaxing music as you go through rings, or just explore your surroundings. Good, peaceful fun. The original Pilotwings felt much the same way at first, but with one minor difference: This Mode-7 showcase for the Super NES was hard. So hard that most people who have played or heard of it have probably never made it close to the end, and that's a shame, because that's where things really get interesting. Admittedly, this isn't so much questionable as it is surprising, though in a post-9/11 world, it might count as a little of both whenever Nintendo adds it to a Virtual Console. Plane-flying, skydiving, rocket belts, and hang gliders are taught to you by four strict instructors as you attempt to gain certification for your ultimate mission: To fly an armed helicopter behind enemy lines and rescue a group of hostages from a terrorist organization. These are our ten moments, but there are no doubt plenty more out there. Which ones do you think we should have included? Tell us in the comments below!
