10 Questionable Moments In Nintendo Games You Totally Ignored

8. Deku Butler's Son in Majora's Mask

One of the main goals in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, besides keeping an evil grinning moon from squishing the planet, is to help people in need. And by the end of the game, you've done just that, with no stone left unturned. Well, except one. Early on in the game, you encounter a withered tree which not only closely resembles a Deku Scrub, but Link's Deku form granted to him by a mask. Further into the game, you meet a character called the Deku Butler, who similarly remarks at how the Deku form of Link reminds him of his son, who had left the Deku Palace at some point prior to Link's arrival and failed to return. At the end of the game, when everyone else is shown celebrating their good fortunes with a happy ending, there is one exception: The Deku Butler is seen kneeling and weeping next to the withered tree, and while it's never been explicitly confirmed, it's strongly believed that the withered tree is what remains of the Deku Butler's son. Looks like the ending to Majora's Mask isn't so happy, after all.
