10 Rare Video Game Console Variants You Might Actually Own

1. Pokémon Pikachu N64

PS4 PS1 20th Anniversary
Nintendo

Showcasing one of the more divisive design choices on this list, the Pikachu edition N64 is certainly, to put it lightly, a unique looking system.

Released in 2000 as the N64's life cycle was drawing to a close, the limited edition system came in blue/yellow and orange/yellow versions.

With a controller sporting the same colour scheme as the system, and featuring a raised-relief Pikachu on top, this N64 was as eye-catching as it was garish.

Everyone's favourite electric type Pokémon Pikachu's cheeks light up when the power is turned on by pressing down on the Pokéball styled power button, and pressing Pikachu's foot resets the system.

For such a rare, collectable system, the Pikachu N64 - particularly the blue version - is actually fairly easy to get hold of from both online sellers and specialist high street game stores alike.

The best part of their relatively modest availability is their current price.

Unlike some earlier entries which can command hundreds or thousands of pounds online, a Pikachu N64 is only likely to set you back around £150.

You may not be able to catch 'em all, but you should certainly go out and catch this one.
