Containing an interdimensional pyramid, psychic powers, and an endearing janitor named Ahti, Control is one of Remedy’s weirdest and most enthralling outings.

Set in the labyrinthian departments of the Federal Bureau Of Control, protagonist Jesse Faden comes up against an assortment of bizarre enemies, ranging from an otherworldly being known as The Hiss to a collection of psychically altered objects like a fridge or an anchor.

As brilliantly bonkers as these enemies are, they aren't hard to miss while working your way through side quests. The opposite is the case when it comes to one sneaky enemy that was added with the AWE expansion, though.

These unlikely enemies are possessed vending machines, and they look exactly like any other of the dozens of identical confectionary dispensers littered throughout the environment. The only way to tell if one is possessed is to hit it, at which point it'll spring to life.

If it weren't for an achievement and an in-game document talking about them, players may not even realise they exist. Moreover, with the machines spawning randomly alongside reports of a rare bug that can stop them from spawning at all, finding one can be impossible.
