5. The Cobra - Borderlands 2

One of the main selling points of Borderlands games is that there are lots and lots of guns. Of course, with lots and lots of guns comes common guns and guns that are a pain in the ass to obtain.

Falling into that second category is The Cobra, a unique aftermarket sniper rifle that you can only obtain as a rare drop from any biker of Pete’s burners in the Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage DLC. Gearbox did eventually improve the drop rate to 8% but before that if you were hoping to grab the weapon with purple rarity you had an 0.88% chance of seeing that happen. This is before you even factor in that you have to roll a rare weapon, that rare weapon needs to roll as a sniper, specifically a Torgue sniper, and that needs to roll with the Cobra barrel that makes it unique. And it only drops from one specific type of enemy in a specific section of the game. All that said, it does have an 80% splash and 110% crit bonus.

Any dedicated Borderlands 2 player will tell you this is an absolute headache but as a big fan of explosive sniper rifles myself, I’m looking at you Cyberpunk 2077’s O’Five, I respect the grind.
