10 Rarest Video Game Deaths You Didn't Know Existed

5. Nuclear Explosion - Fallout 4

The Fallout 4 intro might be one of the most iconic game openings in recent history, one that you get more and more tired of replaying on each consecutive playthrough...

Most Fallout 4 fans are well-acquainted with the events in the first half an hour of the game, but only some of them are aware that the intro also includes a secret death scene.

During Nate and Nora's mad rush towards the Vault, if you ignore the urgency of the upcoming nuclear strike and decide to explore Sanctuary Hills instead, the game will actually allow you to do that... to an extent.

The game lets you stop and admire the houses of your immediate neighbors, but if you venture out too far, the intro will decide you've spent too much time messing around and make the nuke drop prematurely, instantly killing your character in the nuclear fire.

This is the only instance in the game where an actual nuke can kill the Sole Survivors (not counting the mini nukes shot by random raiders), meaning that if you're curious to experience the full horror of Pre-War bombings firsthand, you should really set your family's safety aside and do a little sightseeing in the intro.
