It's vital that everyone involved in a large AAA project understands what needs to be done to achieve a singular creative vision. From art design, voice acting, and music, every one of the various components in the development process must come together into one cohesive whole if a game is going to succeed.

While ideas will organically change and evolve throughout the development process, things tend to go wrong when studio executives meddle with the developers' vision too much.

Look no further than recent PlayStation outing Forspoken to see what happens when ideas are interfered with.

According to one of the original writers, Gary Whitta, the version of the game that he worked on was "nothing like" the final product.

After creating the initial idea for the game alongside conceptualising the magical world it would take place in, Whitta was approached by the studio and informed that the story was going to be rebooted. He, however, was unavailable to work on this new script.

What happened was a new team of writers were brought in to bring a version of somebody else's idea to life. The result was a bland game that lacked in both originality and personality.
