10 Reasons Infamous: Second Son Will Be The PS4's First Essential Title

5. Ridiculously-Destructible Environments

Ss Combat It€™s true to say that satisfying combat in the Infamous games was defined by how satisfying the powers were to use, especially when tearing apart Empire City and New Marais. There's nothing more humorous than coming across some enemies minding their own business on a rooftop balcony, only to shoot forward some bursts of electricity that send them and the whole balcony crumbling to the ground. At times though, the deaths and chaos felt scripted and inevitably became repetitive, losing their original flashy spark. So thankfully one of the biggest noticeable improvements here is that destruction feels more dynamic and less predetermined. There's also just simply far more available to destroy, like extended bridges, walkways, entire buildings, and more. Each destructible environment appears to have multiple points of separation and layers to the destruction too, making for what will surely amount to the most chaotic game ever created. It's a wonder that the PlayStation 4 can even handle this much carnage on screen at once without the frame-rate slogging down into the gutter or any other graphical woes. Such is the next generation game we're all wanting.
