10 Reasons Infinite Warfare Just Killed Call Of Duty

4. The PC Community Is Dead Already

It's fair to say that the PC CoD community has been a lot smaller than that of consoles' for a long, long time, and it certainly doesn't help that the Windows Store and Steam versions are not able to play together online, further making the future of the series on PC look incredibly bleak.

During launch weekend, IW never rose above 16,000 concurrent players on Steam, far below the launches of previous games, and even below the far more niche Farming Simulator 17. Seriously.

It doesn't help that Activision has always given the PC community a bit of a short shrift, with PC players still waiting for an IW patch despite consoles having already received it.

With low player counts making it a struggle to even get a Free-For-All match started and a lack of community oversight making cheating a frequent reality, it's probably just a matter of time before these games stop releasing on PC altogether.

Sure, they're a small portion of the market, but still, turning your back on the base of fans who typically are the most dedicated and have the most disposable income is an extremely unwise move.
