Look at pretty much any big game and the player-base is liable to have its unpleasant quarters, and CoD is no exception.

Love IW? You're a shill who mindlessly laps up everything without critical thought. Make a reasoned complaint? You're a hater who loves to b**** all the time rather than just enjoy the experience.

Rather than come together to try and have fun and maybe help Infinity Ward figure out how to improve the game, the fans have basically turned on one another on sites like Reddit and Steam, which only makes more casual players even more inclined to steer away from the community and maybe even the game itself.

Sure, player squabbles haven't exactly sunk games like DOTA 2 or World of Warcraft over the years, but still, there's a difference between passionate arguments and the game's dubious quality creating a civil war between two segments of fans.
