10 Reasons L.A. Noire Is Rockstar's Most Underrated Game
3. The DLC Is Just As Good As The Main Game
LA Noire offers a complete experience whether you play its DLC or not, but that doesn't mean the additional content released for the title should be considered as insubstantial.
Adding new cases to the already lengthy crime caper, the additional major missions that span all of the desks Cole jumps between in the title build upon the strengths of the original game, and are in some cases better than those core missions.
The base experience wasn't perfect, and especially towards the end it could feel as though the developers had fallen into a routine of structuring each case. The DLC packs on the other hand act as a breath of fresh air that keeps things varied and unpredictable, stopping the adventure from ever falling into a rut.
In an era where Rockstar has seemingly moved away from being interested in high-quality single-player DLC, LA Noire was one of the last titles to enjoy substantial additional post-release content. It didn't completely change the experience, but it beefed out an already great game into an even better beast.
