10 Reasons Mafia 3 Is The Best Open-World Game In Years
9. Dual Driving Modes Give You Sleeping Dogs AND GTA
Do you like your open-world driving to have real weight, physics and momentum a la GTA? Or would you rather opt for something like Sleeping Dogs, where you can barrel into a turn at 120mph, slam on the handbrake and grip the road as you scream through in one overblown motion?
The awesome thing here is, it doesn't matter. You'll start the game put in 'Normal' mode, which is the more arcady of the two. Your car will stick to the road in a fairly unnatural way, but once you've got the hang of it you'll be dodging and weaving through traffic with ease.
Or, there's 'Simulation', which is probably what the majority of players will be accustomed to, and what I'd recommend. This is far more like GTA or Forza, where you can feel the weight of the car as you bank into turns or use counter-momentum to swing back and forth when chasing someone down.
There's a fire mode you can toggle that lets you cycle through targets like say the driver or the wheels, and you can even shunt other cars by hitting a swerve button, Wheelman-style. It's ace.
