10 Reasons Mafia 3 Will Be Better Than GTA 6
9. It Has Shadow Of Mordor's Nemesis System
Thanks to some all-new details revealed in IGN's Beyond podcast, those who've gone hands-on have described a supremely brilliant-sounding evolution of Monolith's 'Nemesis system' from Shadow of Mordor. If you've not played that game, it involved a constantly-shifting hierarchy of enemy units, where you'll be killing off, turning and promoting certain figures constantly, remixing the oppositional ranks to best suit your approach.
All who played, wished that more games had a similar feature, and Mafia 3 is the first to implement one. The story sees you playing as one Lincoln Clay as he takes down the mob, soyou'll need to interrogate enemies to gain information on higher-level targets, turn them to your side, wipe the remainder outandtakeoverthearea itself, beforeinsertinga Lieutenant to run things while you're away.
Doing so means you've got to appoint one person whilst simultaneously annoying those who didn't get the promotion. You'll have to look after your own ranks whilst taking apart theirs, and already thissounds like a far more interesting mechanic than anything GTA's done since, erm...Vice City Stories' property management?
