10 Reasons You Should Move To PC Gaming

3. Reliability

The €œRed Ring of Death€ was the bane of all Xbox 360 owners. The reliability problems meant that many gamers had to send their console into Microsoft for repairs or buy a brand new one. Estimates have put the failure rate at between 20% - 30% and Microsoft lost at least $1 billion as a result. The PlayStation had its own issues with the far less common €œYellow Light of Death€. These problems have been suggested to have been caused by both firms looking to cut costs when manufacturing their consoles. This type of problem doesn€™t affect gaming PCs as they are built separately from individual parts, rather than mass produced. That€™s not to say that your gaming PC will be immune from problems. However you should feel much safer with one for a number of reasons. It€™s common for PC components to come with 3 year warranties, meaning you should be covered for any failures. If the worst does happen and your graphics card or processor does decide to kick the bucket it is nowhere near as a big a problem as it would be if it were a console. You can simply replace the broken part without having to get hold of a totally new rig.
