10 Reasons No Man’s Sky Is Finally Worth Playing
1. Multiplayer
No Man’s Sky has begun to open their massive universe to cooperative multiplayer. You can make your home base discoverable to any player who happens upon your world. Race circuits can be set up allowing time trial challenges between players using exocrafts. Communication terminals can also be constructed allowing you to leave messages behind for any future traveler who happens upon the same location.
The Atlas Rises update brought with it the biggest step forward into cooperative multiple to date; it is now possible for up to 16 players to communicate using close proximity voice communication in joint exploration. Visualized by floating orbs players can meet up (pro tip: use portal combinations to organize a meeting point with your friends) and glide around the planet exploring together.
Baby steps, as the interactions are incredibly limited so far, but it’s clear the direction they are heading… and that direction is cooperative and interactive synchronized exploration.
