4. Grand Theft Auto V
For many it wasnt until nearer the release of Rockstars world-media enslaving behemoth that the fact it was going to be on current-generation consoles settled in. Besides the astonishing sales figures of over $1 Billion, GTAs feat also comprises of the frankly ludicrously detailed world of San Andreas. With its towering skyline, labyrinthine streets, vast deserts and expansive underwater environments, V was everything the next-gen press conferences were hinting at but had continually failed to deliver on. Many, including myself, are questioning all developers ability to get the most out of these current systems going into the next generation, as with The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls looking unbelievably convincing as the next step in visual fidelity already, what are we actually plonking down a wad of notes for, if not a selection of new shading techniques and less-texture pop for smaller titles?
