10 Reasons Persona 5 Is Already A Game Of The Year Contender
4. The Story Is Gripping
Persona 5 puts our character into the middle of a world that he doesn't know, and instantly has people hating him for a misconceived criminal record. Soon, he becomes entangled in the world of Personas and Palaces (dungeons), and forms the Phantom Thieves.
The story progresses from there by fleshing out the main mystery of these past 'crimes', introducing new members of the team and brand new palaces. The stakes are always raised with each new target, and each character is given time to shine amidst the overarching themes of justice and human desire.
No plot point feels pointless or rushed, and the player truly wants to figure things out and see the characters through to the end. The story feels perfectly paced because of the way that time progresses, and slowly unfurling the motives and secrets behind the cast themselves makes it hard to put down.
