10 Reasons Rocksteady's Next Arkham Game Should Be Batwoman
9. Batman Is DONE After Arkham Knight's Ending
Without getting too bogged down in the ups and downs of Arkham Knight's story, the ending wasn't exactly the best. It sells Bruce Wayne succumbing to his dark side as something triumphant when it really isn't, and the ending tease of a nightmarish Batman was nowhere near as definitive as it should've been.
Still, it didn't not raise some interesting questions. But while they could be addressed by any character, they definitely won't be by Batman. The character is done as far as Arkham is concerned, but it's his legacy that matters more. Arkham Knight's DLC teased the various ways his allies reacted to his ostensible demise, but wouldn't it be interesting if an outside force tried to honour it instead?
In the comics, Kate Kane dons the Batwoman identity after the Dark Knight stops her from being mugged in the street. At the time, Kate felt as though she was without purpose. Batman came into her life and she vowed to honour that legacy in her own way come '52', when the Dark Knight disappeared alongside the rest of DC's Trinity.
Now that Bruce is gone in the Arkhamverse, Rocksteady could mirror her journey in the comics.
