10 Reasons The PlayStation Vita Was An Overlooked Gem
5. Great Exclusives
Despite also having access to a vast array of PlayStation One and PSP games, the Vita also had a sizeable library of exclusives of its own that are also worth picking up. Some of the games that were released on the Vita were so well received that Sony decided to port them onto the PS4 with such games as Tearaway and Gravity Rush just to name a few.
But for every Tearaway, there was a great title that unfortunately didn't make it off of the Vita. Games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, (a prequel to Naughty Dogs smash hit Uncharted: Drakes Fortune) brought the exciting exploration and third-person shooting to the small screen with none of the polish and charm of its home console relatives dropped in the process.
Also, a game like Killzone Mercenary, that pits you as a rogue operative during the ISA and Helghast war. Which was praised for being a fantastic adaptation of the Killzone games to a handheld console. The console was also home to many ports of games from older systems, such as the first two games in the God Of War franchise with the God Of War collection.
Due to the Vita being as powerful as it was, plus being able to play some of the best looking games on a handheld you could get at the time just goes to show the strength of its support when it was first launched.
