3. The Updates
Even worse than the glitches are the supposed fixes, and this point is aimed right at you, Battlefield 3. Sometimes, when a dev releases a so called "fix" for a glitch, they make a worse one, and sometimes, the update doesn't fix anything. Remember the update that came with Modern Warfare 2's "Stimulus Package"? All it did was make the new maps unplayable due to an error on Microsoft's end. Or sometimes a dev fixes something that isn't broken: each time DICE decides to reinvent Battlefield 3, thousands of players are driven out due to radical balances that didn't need to even occur. Seriously, was the M16A3 even over-powered? Some times a fix isn't worth it, so while our favourite guns are nerfed beyond comprehension, cheaters and glitches still run riot in our games.
2. Focus on Online Gameplay
Now, here's a point more subject to opinion - I like to be focused in a game. With something like an open world game, I will usually do the story missions first, then go out exploring and causing mayhem. I like to have a more structured goal for my actions, and a series of random matches with soldiers killing each other for no apparent reason just makes no sense to me. Even in game like Battlefield 3, which featured a fairly poor story, I felt like part of a squad: I had a reason I was invading Iran, I had to do something. I jump online, and all of sudden I'm capturing flags. There needs to be an equal focus on online and campaign gameplay, and a story that ties into the multiplayer matches would be an awesome idea.
