10 Reasons To Hate Modern FPS Games

1. The Communities

I stated above that there is no set order for this list, but if there was, the community would have to be number 1. Have you ever seen anything more dumb than a "community" of players who play a shooter? COD fans are a bunch of 12 year olds, with older and more mature-minded players left to resort to cheap tactics to beat the kids on Xbox LIVE. Fans of one side often start e-arguements with others, while people just sit back and laugh at them. Whereas, communities built around Mass Effect, Guild Wars, Diablo, Grand Theft Auto, Skyrim and so many others are all producing wonderful art and music, politely discussing the game with fellow friends and suggesting fixes, shooter fanatics are having fanboy rages and starting fights over whose game is better. It's a shame some people see games this way. In fact, gamers can be quite talented. Look for any video game music covers on YouTube. A couple of days ago, Malufenix, Lara6689 and ViolinTay released a collaborative effort, a cover of Guild Wars 2's "Fear Not This Night." Such talent and dedication is not seen from a shooter community - when was the last time someone released a Battlefield 3 cover? http://youtu.be/LQKspH34BkM So there's just 10 reasons why modern shooters sucks. I do play a few shooter games, mainly Blacklight and Battlefield 3. I play them most because they can fill in the time more, but I'd rather have a story and dedicated community to play and ally myself with. While shooters are by no means "bad" games, it's a shame they have a lot of catching up to do? What do you think? Shooters: love them or hate them? Let us know below.

I live in Australia, love to write and play games. So what better than writing about games? I love all things action and fantasy, as well as my occasional shooter. I literally cannot wait for GTAV!
