3. The Guilds
Larger guilds in many MMOs tend to have difficult application process, but none more so than in WoW. Whereas in games like Tera, Guild Wars 2 and Rift you can expect to join a guild after a few hours and perhaps a few tests runs, WoW guild applications can take months. If you want to join some of the top guilds in WoW you can expect to make an application similar to a top CEO job application. There are even websites out there that offer to write your application for you with everything you need to be successful, including presentations and references. I understand that many guilds want to only have the top players on the server, but when you have to spend weeks being watched on every run and have to write thousands of words as to why you should be let in it may be time to consider another game.
