10 Reasons It Totally Sucked To Be A Gamer In 2013
5. Sequels
Yes, it has been said before, and vociferously, but this point deserves even further emphasis: the sequels this year were painful. I can admit that I do tend to be extremely critical of games, but there is almost never a good enough reason to create a sequel, unless a story deserves further expansion, or characters can be taken on in new, just as exciting new directions. And, 2013 cemented that fact by having not only some of the worst sequels ever made, but some of the worst games ever released. Dead Island: Riptide was downright atrocious, God of War: Ascension wasn't a dull game, but felt absolutely needless, Gears of War: Judgment felt like it was coded by a child and while Dead Space 3 did have some exciting set pieces, but legs buckled under the weight of a ludicrous story.
Thomas James Hunt is a British Video Game Critic who is a rather unpleasant character in the journalism world. So brace yourself for some nasty behaviour in the form of articles.
