10 Reasons Why Project Zomboid Is The Best Zombie Game Ever

7. Time is Important

Remember how Dead Rising had players pay attention to the 72-hour time cycle, and how tense that made things? Well, Zomboid decided to take some notes from it.

The game doesn’t just go on a day and night cycle, but it also keeps track of the in-game date and how many days have passed in your run. This is incredibly important, as TV shows that can level up your skills come on at certain times, as well as broadcasts that can reveal some of the lore behind the zombie outbreak. Much more important though is the fact that after about 14 days, the electricity and the water go out, meaning you can’t simply drink from a kitchen sink to quench your thirst, and your perishable foods will go rotten without a generator powering your refrigerator.

Even further down the line though is a far more concerning threat; the freezing danger known as Winter. If you want to survive for the long term, you’ll have to manage your time effectively. Kind of like life (thank you for reading this article by the way, fantastic use of your time).
