10 Reasons Why Sly Cooper Deserves A Reboot
6. New Style For The Series
The fourth game in the franchise completely flipped the series on its head, changing so many of the stylistic things we adored about the first three games.
It was an extremely bold departure from the original material, but it was fantastically done. Keeping the cartoon style of the series, while changing small features and the comic book art style of some of the plot sequences, we got a completely new and fresh take on the beloved series.
Introducing a new art style like this for only one game in the series seems to be a strange choice, lending itself to continuing this newfound style in future games. It was received very well, even by old fans of the games, allowing the developers to try new things in each subsequent sequel after this.
The new art style allowed for the game to keep its bright and colourful visuals, while adding more realism and grittiness to the antihero adventures that occur throughout the series.
While changing things about the original style was a bold choice, it paid off in the end, giving this franchise even more uniqueness in how it is styled.
